H Google εξαγόρασε την εφαρμογή διαχείρισης e-mail Sparrow

Στην εξαγορά του Sparrow, μιας από τις πιο ανερχόμενες εφαρμογές διαχείρισης e-mail για iOS και Mac προχώρησε η Google. Σύμφωνα με το The Verge, το ποσό της εξαγοράς δεν ξεπέρασε τα 25 εκατομμύρια δολάρια.

«We’re excited to announce that Sparrow has been acquired by Google!
We care a lot about how people communicate, and we did our best to provide you with the most intuitive and pleasurable mailing experience.
Now we’re joining the Gmail team to accomplish a bigger vision — one that we think we can better achieve with Google.
We’d like to extend a special thanks to all of our users who have supported us, advised us, given us priceless feedback and allowed us to build a better mail application. While we’ll be working on new things at Google, we will continue to make Sparrow available and provide support for our users.
We had an amazing ride and can’t thank you enough.

Η εφαρμογή Sparrow είναι μια από τις καλύτερες third-party εφαρμογές για e-mail τόσο στο Mac όσο και στο iOS, αλλά ειδικότερα στο iPhone. Η εφαρμογή έχει ένα μοναδικό user interface το οποίο είναι πολύ εύχρηστο και ενσωματώνει πλήρως τα κοινωνικά δίκτυα.
Η εταιρεία ανέφερε ότι σχεδιάζει το Sparrow για iPad, αλλά δεν είναι ακόμα γνωστό για το εάν θα κυκλοφορησει τελικά, από την στιγμή που η ομάδα τους ενσωματώθηκε στην Google. Επίσης είπαν ότι η εφαρμογή θα παραμείνει διαθέσιμη για Mac και iOS και θα συνεχίσουν να παρέχουν υποστήριξη στους χρήστες τους. Η εφαρμογή Sparrow στο iPhone ήταν μια πάρα πολύ καλή λύση για τους χρήστες του Gmail διότι η εφαρμογή της Google για το email δεν είναι ιδιαίτερα χρηστική.
Επίσημος εκπρόσωπος της Google έκανε την παρακάτω δήλωση:
«The Sparrow team has always put their users first by focusing on building a seamlessly simple and intuitive interface for their email client. We look forward to bringing them aboard the Gmail team, where they’ll be working on new projects.»
Η ομάδα του Sparrow θα επικεντρωθεί σε καινούργια project της Google που θα έχουν σίγουρα σχέση με το Gmail.
